rotary valve air lock

Product Details

The prime function of a rotary valve airlock is to regulate the flow from one chamber to another while maintaining a good airlock condition. The product is available mostly in dry powder or granular form. rotary valve airlock is also very important for the pneumatic conveying industry, where the product is regulated into a pressure or vacuum conveying line while minimizing air leakage.
rotary valve airlock is a kind of rotary feeder and also a Rotary Airlock or Rotary Valve. They offer feeding and metering of a typical rotary feeder but their main duty is to preserve pressure and provide an ideal airlock seal between different product conveying changes, for example, gravity to pneumatic conveying lines.
What Happens Inside a rotary valve airlock?
The metal blades of a rotary valve airlock turn (rotate) during operation. As they do, pockets form between them. In a rotary valve airlock, the air is locked between the inlet and outlet ports. This permits the materials to travel downward through the valve from the inlet to the outlet port while controlling the airflow. Material is moved endlessly through the presence of unbroken air pressure between the ports.
A Feeder is a valve or device that’s main resolution is metering material into or out of something but is not separating a pressure differential. These can be volumetric feeders, vibratory feeders, screw conveyors, etc.
